The house
Novus Press Works is a hybrid publishing house in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in 2023 and built on the belief that the craft of publishing is worth doing properly, and that the business of publishing is overdue for a rewrite.
What we are
Most houses do one thing: they publish their own list, or they sell services to authors. We do both, deliberately, because each one keeps the other honest.
Our own books go through the same editors, the same designers, the same printers and the same distribution as the books we publish in partnership. When we tell an author what a print run costs or how long a Kirkus review takes, we are not reading it off a brochure. We are telling them what happened to us last quarter.
Our team brings more than fifty combined years across the entertainment and publishing industries. We approach every project as a partnership: we nurture the relationship, we champion the work, and we make sure creators are fairly compensated for it.
The imprints
The old tale. Fiction with a long memory.
The true tale. Non-fiction wisdom that passes between generations.
The tale for children. Picture books and early readers.
Standards
Novus Press Works is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association. Our titles carry our own ISBN prefix, are catalogued with full bibliographic metadata, and are available to the trade through wholesale and library channels.
Recognition
Twenty-two award honors across The Goodpasture Chronicles; twenty-four across the house.
The parent company
Novus Press Works is the publishing division of Novus Operandi Media, LLC, a family-owned media company founded by Jason and Rhonda Halbert.
The parent company exists so that a story does not have to stop at the last page. Publishing is where our work starts; audio, adaptation and licensing are how it travels. Rights enquiries for any Novus Press Works title are handled through the parent company — rights and permissions.
A hybrid publishing house in Nashville, Tennessee. Three imprints. An old craft, run a new way.
